Some dreams don’t begin with a camera.
Some begin with a pen.For me, filmmaking started long before I ever held a camera. It started with the stories that lived inside my head.
I have always loved writing fiction. Storytelling is something I enjoy deeply. I can sit quietly for hours, imagine people, places, situations and emotions, and then use my pen to bring them to life.
When I write, I am in my element.
I have come to realize that fiction writing is a special gift, just like every other gift God gives us.
Sometimes, when I am sad, I pick up my pen and start writing. Somehow, the sadness disappears.
That is how powerful writing is to me.
Writing is more than a hobby.
It is my escape.
It is my expression.
It is my therapy.
It is the little piece of my soul I leave behind every time I put my thoughts on paper.
I write when I am happy.
I write when I am sad.
I write when I am inspired.
I write when there are things in my heart that I cannot find the right words to say out loud.
In fact, I am much more expressive when I write than when I speak.
And now, something I have dreamed about for so long is finally happening.
I am about to shoot my FIRST SHORT FILM! 🎬😭❤️
As I prepare to see one of the stories I wrote come alive on screen, I can’t help but look back at the woman who once sat quietly with just a pen, a notebook and a head full of stories.
Today, that woman is taking another step toward her dream.
I may not know exactly where this journey will take me, but I know one thing:
By the special grace of God, this is only the beginning.
The beginning of greater stories.
The beginning of greater opportunities.
The beginning of a beautiful filmmaking journey.
And perhaps, one day, I will look back at this moment and say:
“This was where it all began.” ❤️🎬
If you are a fiction writer, I would love to hear from you.
